Coronado High School has been consistently exceptional in the El Paso area over the last 30 years. This is especially clear during the 2010s, when Coronado won 9 of the 10 Region II championships between 2010 and 2019. During that time frame, there were also a few high performers at the state level. Most notably, at Regionals in 2015, Luke Minton was ranked 2nd in the state with a Coronado record of 9,188.6. In the post-Covid years, Coronado has been less consistent, only winning Region II in 2022 and 2025. However, during that time, Coronado also had its first ever nationals appearance, with Benjamin Ingram and Analiesa Jones being invited as individuals to the 2024 USAD Nationals in Pittsburgh.
