Nota Bene[edit]

I never expected quite a evolutionary approach by Blooooo. I've realized I've been a wee bit of a dick on this, so I hope that this time, I get it right. KortEverettJackson 22:15, 3 December 2007 (PST)

Site Location[edit]

As of 3 December 2007, this site is located on [1]. As a result of this site being a part of the gilslotd.com domain, David Gilman is entitled to all editing rights of this site as well as the entire domain, including the updating and upkeep of the MediaWiki software necessary to run ADSIC.

Executive and Powers[edit]

The Executive is responsible for the basic function of ADSIC.

Membership is defined as anyone who possesses sys op status on ADSIC. There are no fixed limits on sys ops, but there shouldn't be less than three.

Once a person ascends to sys op status, there is no duration or limit of term.

The lead sys-op is considered to be the Governor-General of the site. There can theoretically be more than one Governor-General, but no more than three Governors-General are recommended.

The Governors-General are responsible for not only the governance of ADSIC, but also responsible for coordinating the PR, Fund-Raising as well as any external issues necessary for the survival of ADSIC.

Policy Setting[edit]

The Governors-General are responsible for setting the ADSIC Editing Policy. Any changes must be presented to the Governors-General for approval. Other sys-ops may present their opinions if they so desire, but the final decision comes from the Governors-General.

Legislative Abolishment[edit]

On April 1, 2008, the Legislative Branch will cease to exist. The Council shall then live on as a five member appointed board (appointments made by the Governors-General) that advises the Executive. Appointments are reviewed and either renewed or replaced every six months.

Note[edit]

Anyone can accomplish the ADSIC:todo list, if they want to.

Editing Guidelines[edit]

Nota Bene[edit]

This was taken from Blooooo.

On Creating Articles[edit]

  • Don't make an article if you don't plan to add to it.
  • If in doubt, add information to an existing article.
  • Place each article in a category. There's a list that needs to be fixed.

Regional Score Articles[edit]

  • Place them in the category fitting, such as [[Category:Texas Regional Scores]] or [[Category:California Regional Scores]].
  • Keep all information contained to one page, the user should not need to hunt various pages to find scores.
    • All the regions = one page.
  • The only necessary info is the school's scores. In regionals, individual medals do not need to be listed (or else ADSIC would be gigantic).

State Score Articles[edit]

  • Leading section should list the winner and their scores. Repeat for medium and small schools.
  • For state, its fitting to put the top 5 individuals, but not for each event.
    • This rule is not that stringent.

National Scores Articles[edit]

  • This is usually handled by the bigger editors - Kort or someone.
  • It's customary to list the school's scores, top 5 H/S/V individuals, and top 5 H/S/V for each event.

On Tables[edit]

The best kind of table looks like this. It is sortable by javascript, uses a default format, and is easy to edit. This format should be used on all tables.

{| class = "wikitable sortable"
!header1
!header2
!header3
|-
|school1 info1
|school1 info2
|school1 info3
|-
|school2 info1
...
|-
|}

On Categories[edit]

Make them. Use them. Love them.

[[Category:Name of Category]]

On Templates[edit]

Templates are nice, and can be used well in the right context. ADSIC uses the ambox format for most editing boxes (the majority) of templates, which can be used by placing the code of an existing template at the front of an article. Use them often to clear up disputes, merge articles, fix problems, etc..
