Devon (Darryn Creamer) Heath was a "A" student for the Martinsville High School. He was unlike any other competitor, completely illiterate. While winning state and finishing well in nationals he was totally unable to read or write. It was by shear luck that he achieved what he did. After his amazing performance in decathlon he went to Purdue where his life became even worse.
