Morton Ranch High School is a high school based in Katy, Texas. Opened in 2004, the school serves around 2800 students. Carrie McDaniel is currently in her 15th year of coaching for Morton Ranch. The current assistant coach is Gina Dickey, who teaches special education math at the high school.
Morton Ranch advanced to its first state tournament in school history in 2008 and has continued to grow stronger, advancing to state in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. 2018 marked a significant improvement in the Honors category for MRHS, with not only the second highest score in the school's history, but also several school records including its first ever 9,000+ score, achieved by Sophomore Karen Tseng. Morton Ranch secured its first state championship at the state competition in Frisco, TX during a breakout year for the team.
