I am updating this page and others on ADSIC to correct for 3 errors on ADSIC concerning the 1982 and 1997 LA County regionals events.

1. There should be no LA County title to be awarded to any team for the 1982 season. Until the 1998 season, the USAD regionals event (i.e. the county competition) occurred in November of the preceding calendar year. 25 schools approximate to the LA area (from 23 counties) competed in November 1982 for their USAD regionals event. 3 of the 25 schools at this regionals event were located in Los Angeles county: Palisades, Palos Verdes, and Whittier Christian. Palisades (later of LAUSD) was the winner of the regionals event and represented the region alongside Palos Verdes at the 1982 California State event that year.

2. Palos Verdes Peninsula High School is distinct from Palos Verdes High School. Palos Verdes Peninsula was formed in 1991 upon the closure of Rolling Hills High, Miraleste High, and (temporarily) Palos Verdes High. Increasing enrollment numbers eventually brought about the re-opening of Palos Verdes High. The result of this correction is that Palos Verdes High and not Palos Verdes Peninsula won the 1988 title. Interesting side note: prior to its closure, Roberta Kordich was the decathlon coach for Miraleste High School.

3. After a re-tallying of scores, Palos Verdes Peninsula was credited for a winning regionals score of 42,571 for the 1997 season. Beverly Hills was also invited to attend the state event that year in consideration of the tallying error.
