Template:Infobox pop Kevin Able first competed in Academic Decathlon (Acadec) during his sophomore year. That year, the scholastic team from Shawnee Mission South swept their division. Kevin led the way with a score of 5,805. At nationals, Kevin was blindsided by the difficulty level of the Nationals exams, and didn't do nearly as well.The following year, Kevin returned as Team Captain and was the top scholastic at the 2006 regional competition.
