2009 marks the third year of the Scholar's Cup.

The topic for the Two Thousand and Nine season is "The Fall of Empires".

The High School level subject areas are Math, History, Fine Arts, Literature, Economics and Science.


Subjects of the World Scholar's Cup for 2009[edit]

Mathematics[edit]

This year, the subject of Mathematics is called "The Essentials of Standardized Assessment".

History[edit]

NOTE: This subject was referred to as "Social Studies" last year.

This year, the subject of History is called "Empires on the Brink".

Fine Arts[edit]

This year, the subject of Fine Arts has two segments. The topical segment is called "The Art of Decline and Decadence" and the film segment is called "Empires of the Past and Future".

Literature[edit]

NOTE: This subject was referred to as "English" last year.

This year, the subject of Literature is called "Literature of the Fall".

Economics[edit]

This year, the subject of Economics is called "The Essentials of Economic Thinking" and has a special module entitled "The Economics of Spectacular Collapse".

Science[edit]

This year, the subject of Science is called "Sustainable Development".
