The topic for the 2016 season was "An Improbable World".

The seniors and junior level subject areas were History, Literature, Arts (which also included music), Social Studies, Science, and a Special Area.

History

In 2016, the subject of History was "a History of Cheating."

Literature

In 2016, the subject of Literature was "Words to Light the Darkness."

Arts

In 2016, the subject of Arts was "Flawed Visions, Broken Sounds."

Social Studies

In 2016, the subject of Social Studies was "When States Falter."

Science

In 2016, the subject of Science was "Disease and Public Health."

Special Area

In 2016, the special area was "Crime and Justice."

Global Championship Meets were held in Bangkok, Thailand and Prague, Czech Republic, and attracted 3400+ students from 35 nations.
