Camille Casteel High School, commonly referred to as "Casteel High School", is a public junior high and high school located in Queen Creek, Arizona, in the Chandler Unified School District. The school was opened in July 2015, and became the first Chandler School named after a current staff member, superintendent Camille Casteel, after district staff specifically wished to name a school after her. The school had it's first graduating class in spring of 2019, and boasts an enrollment of over 3,100 as of 2020.
Casteel's Academic Decathlon team was first formed in 2017 to compete in the 2017-2018 competition season. Casteel competed for the first time at the Williamsfield Invitational. Lead by President and 1st Honors Serena Smith, the team went on to compete at the 2018 Region IV competition and just barely made the cutoff to qualify for the 2018 Arizona Academic Decathlon State Competition, as they went into the competition at 40th in the state. At the 2018 State Competition, the team went up ten places to 30th place with only seven members of the team, making an impressive showing for their first year.
Casteel began an Academic Pentathlon team in 2018-2019 and won State. The team went to Nationals in Nashville and finished 5th in 8th grade division.
In 2021, Casteel had its first overall podium finisher in Scholastic Brendan Smith, when he finished 1st at Regionals and 3rd at State. In 2022, Danny Han finished 1st in Varsity division at Regionals.
