Laguna Hills High School in Orange County, California was one of the highest-scoring programs in California from 1990 to 2000.

Under English teachers Kathy Lane and Roger Gunderson, they won the Orange County regional competition every year from 1990 to 1996 and 1998 to 2000, the California state championship in 1990 and 1991, and second overall at Nationals in 1990 and 1991.

Their other notable achievements include a team score of 48,505 at the 1995 regional competition. Nelson Lai, the runner-up individual champion at State/California/1998, as well as Cindy Chang and Peter Goff, the second and third overall Scholastics at State/California/1999, all came from Laguna Hills.
