Division Champions by Year

Until 2009, California Academic Decathlon placed teams in large school (I), medium school (II), and small school (III) divisions based on their county's enrollment.

Starting in 2009, the 20 top-scoring teams after regionals competed in Division I, teams seeded 21-40 competed in Division II, and all remaining teams competed in Division III.

In 2013 only, Division I was reduced to the top 10 teams, Division II included teams 11-30, and Division III included all remaining teams.
