Patrick Henry was originally declared the winner of the competition with a score of 41,774 and Torrey Pines came in second place with a score of 41,165. After a rescore, Torrey Pines ended up with a higher score than Patrick Henry, and the San Diego Office of Education received permission from CAD to send both teams to compete at the state competition.
