A few comments

  • A whole new color scheme that is more pleasing to the eye.
    • Does that mean we can finally scrap the blue/brown/gold/silver? Just stick with Gray and White for tables.
      • I think a discussion about this needs to be opened. I also really like the sortable feature for tables, perhaps it's time for a rewrite of adam's html table generator? I would not be opposed to redoing all the tables on the site if everyone agreed on a standard. --gil 18:46, 16 November 2007 (PST)
        • Wow, is that thing still kicking around? In any case, I'm all up for a new standard. I just used that one because I preferred my generated ones to the xwiki ones (which were ghastly if I do say so myself). So yeah, change works for me. - Adam 21:22, 21 November 2007 (PST)
        • I'm starting work on the bot that will convert tables. --gil 00:18, 28 November 2007 (PST)
  • A new logo to boot.
    • Needs to be vectorized sometime soon, I'll do it someday.
      • That logo was put in place by an executive order, you can see the old one at [[1]] --gil 18:46, 16 November 2007 (PST)
        • I actually liked Ian's logo over our current one. But I guess that was just me? - Adam 21:22, 21 November 2007 (PST)
  • Formal launching of the Texan and Californian Initiatives, which will separate the two historical giants of USAD.
    • What the hell is the Texas Initiative and California Initiative?
  • Relaunching of the ADSIC Facebook Group.
    • Who uses fb groups?
  • More AD information, such as tips and strategies.
    • Packets, DemiDec, and AcadecTalk exist for this purpose.
  • And of course, A GREATER VARIETY OF SCORES!!!!
    • The only problem with this is getting my hands on the scores. I'd add all 10 years of Texas results if I knew where to find them.

Regarding Texas scores... I've e-mailed Sue Edwards a couple times and she's said that they don't keep scores past a couple years. So if you want old scores you're going to have to contact old coaches.

    • I have (somewhere) some scores that are the top six teams (in each division) from each year up to 2003 (although I have scores from Ms. Edwards that go back to 2002) and will be adding them as we go along

Todo page[edit]

Kort, these should be put on ADSIC:Todo as soon as what exactly needs to be done is specified. --gil 18:48, 16 November 2007 (PST)

KortEverettJackson 12:50, 28 November 2007 (PST) Response[edit]

New Color Scheme and Logo: I have several logo candidates I am considering, and once I can narrow the large field of candidates (something about 20) down to 5-10, I will post the candidates. When I mean color schemes, I mean the main page colors and logo colors mainly. I don't want to get rid of the Gold Silver Bronze scheme for identifying awards, but I will settle for a small image that will serve as an indicator of the award level, and that should look a bit more appealing.

Texas and California Initiatives: This isn't concrete yet, but it involves adding state histories, as well as a "write-up" for each year. (example, a write-up for Texas 2007 would be a short story on how Plano narrowly escaped with the overall title over Friendswood).

Tips and Strategies: We had a speech section on the old Acadecscores. I hope to return this at the minimum.

Greater Variety of Scores: I have lots of scores to submit, so this shouldn't be too terribly hard to accomplish (as well as the new year coming up)

KortEverettJackson 11:20, 27 December 2007 (PST) Addendum to Response[edit]

We won't be doing the initiatives at this time. IMHO, we are way too close to the 07-08 main season to attempt to work on that. If it is to begin, It'll probably be about June at the earliest.
