ADSIC talk:The Perfect Regionals Page

Blooo....
In My Humble Opinion
One, ISD is rather necessary. It is nice to know how many schools a district sends in their region. Also, there are two Nimitz-es (Aldine and Irving), two Coronado-es (Lubbock and El Paso) and heaven can only know how many conflicts there are with other states, which could cause a reader in a different state to wonder why the hell they "wound up competing in TX", for example.
Two, Qualifier pages are unnecessary, but we can incorporate the qualifying table into the page if we have to, and then put that score in a separate column on the state scores.
Three, Not everyone who scores above X number of points makes it. Region Champions get a guaranteed bid at state, so a Region Champion with a score that is near the bottom is likely to knock off a team that scored higher than that Champion. Thus, Qualifying info is necessary to know in the long run.
Four, If a Region awards Overall Individual to Five, put all five down.
Five, Rank is actually a nice thing to have, because after they tessellate the table twelve different ways to Sunday, they can just sort back the rank column, and voila. Plus, you can look and see if the score matches the rank. Plus, the majority of everything ranked has a rank column.
What I think is a good idea from all this
Putting all the info onto one page, separating the Large Medium and Small. This just might work.
So, Blooo, I think you really did a great job, and I applaud the fact that you designed this page before going into construction mode and applying it. This allows for constructive criticism to be formed. I have offered mine, any others?

Well, I agree with what Kort says about the qualifier table.
And the rank: it's always helpful.
ISDs: well, we've got my page for TX (I'm sure we could create more for other states), but otherwise, I believe it's unnecessary to have a whole column for ISDs - just add it in ( )s if needed after the school name.
- That page probably belongs in the main namespace then. This is probably a good enough reason to make a /Texas page for all kinds of general info but I want to see some commentary before I start moving things. gil 16:53, 7 January 2008 (PST)
The separation of Large and Medium is, in my opinion, required. I disagree with the overall individual awards, however: if we're looking for uniformity, we should choose ONE number that fits best. Either 5 or 3 (i don't care which), but one number.
Aside from those: literally, the idea and creation are perfect - it will definitely help me and other newcomers become accustomed to how to best create pages here.
BTW, while we're talking of Regionals, why are the Texas Regionals pages located at Regionals/Texas/Region/Region# instead of Regionals/Texas/Region# ?? is there a particular reason?
- Kort did it, i'll move them back gil 16:53, 7 January 2008 (PST)
