Summaries

I'd like to thank you for your contributions but would also ask that you add summaries to at least the big edits explaining your changes. You can turn on an option in my preferences -> editing -> prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (it's at the bottom) that will try and catch you from posting without a summary. -gil 18:55, 25 October 2007 (PDT)

Pastels....

What is it with wikipedia and using pastel colors? I mean, I know they're supposed to be the most unoffensive and least intrusive version of the hue, but honestly... They're so BLAH. Or is that just me? I think I need to work on being more subtle.

btw, I do approve of the color change. I just chose the color I did because it definitely wasn't gray. And that made me happy.

Regionals/Texas/2008

(accidentally submitted previous version instead of previewing)
Do we want to add ISD, or is that just unneeded fluff?
Should we make the wikitables sortable once we add stuff?
Should we change the header/sortrow to more simple formatting? (i.e. use the exclamation mark to denote headers)

  • btw if you don't define bgcolor i think it will pull from the css making sitewide changes much easier. i honestly don't think header colors are a big deal though, its just a table gil 21:36, 22 December 2007 (PST)

OLD

Place School Score
{| class="wikitable"
| bgcolor=#cccccc | '''Place'''
| bgcolor=#cccccc | '''School'''
| bgcolor=#cccccc | '''Score'''
|}

POSSIBLE NEW

Place School ISD Score
{| class="wikitable sortable"
! Place
! School
! ISD
! Score
|}

Yes, ISDs are fluff and no one cares about them. Wikitable sortables really are the way to go as well. Finally, like gil was saying, using ! instead of "bgcolor" will make sitewide changes easier and drag the values from mediawiki.css, and you need a ! instead of | for sortables.

Thanks...one more thing...let's not combine Large, Medium, and Small School scores...they advance separately and with the current method, there is no way to tell the difference between Large and Small schools and how each division's scores compare. Perhaps color-coding or left & right tables would work best? Any input?? FlowerMoundHS

Vandalism

You know... it's bad enough that one has to deal with vandalism on the real wikipedia. No one cares about your man-crush on Sherman. Either make constructive edits, or don't make edits at all. - Adam 19:03, 9 January 2008 (PST)
