Hi, I'm trying to find out where you got the information about David Florey's (Top Varsity Scorer) score? I'm from Marshall HS and the records I have indicate that he scored around 8500 points but, then again, I don't have an original score packet. Thanks. --Tcolberg 23:28, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

It was here when I first started working, and I have seen an article that definitively told me that the score he received was correct. But I can't find it.Stanley Tree 15:48, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

For the "fun score thingy" you want to do this summer, have you thought about a list of top individuals who dominated their division at nationals in their years - i.e. Frank Soberanis in 2007? MadcapMadcap

I should! Maybe go year by year for every individual score we have...Stanley Tree 20:01, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

2009 Nationals Webcast Discussion[edit]

Have we heard anything yet? Or is USAD still patting themselves on the back for a job crappily done? [User:Captaink|Captaink]] 12:49, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

still nothing...my guess is that the lunch ran over PPaterson 17:57, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

does anyone have hartman's cell phone-telephone number? PPaterson 17:58, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

nvm got it; apparently they just started eating at like 1, so awards will likely start in 40 minutes to an hour. PPaterson 18:10, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Edie Wu says they're "trying to get WiFi but no guarantees". Hopefully they'll manage to before awards start; nothing to worry about yet anyway. Akwdb 18:13, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

no one has like an iphone or anything? PPaterson 18:24, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

No idea. Also, on SQ: interesting that Waukesha did so well in relay; last year that was their downfall. Akwdb 18:35, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

NOTICE: it appears DemiDec Dean is webcasting the awards on the DemiDec Facebook page at [1]. According to him, awards are starting NOW. Akwdb 18:40, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Convention[edit]

I know this is picky, but USAD convention is to report scores down to the decimal place. Could you please include the decimal place when posting scores? Akwdb 06:53, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Top Programs of the Decade[edit]

Hey Andrew, how'd you fandangle the "Top Programs" rankings? I'm fairly sure Pearland deserves a higher ranking for wining State twice :)

I took the scores of each team in every year against the average of the large school 40 of that year plus good medium teams, and then added those numbers up. Pearland didn't even field a state advancing team for half the decade, so it's hard to put them up farther.Stanley Tree 14:45, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

  • OK, if you say so...but I say rank is more important than scores (and assigning "0" to non-appearing schools is misleading).
  • What happened to the Acadectalk forum (I haven't visited in forever)? I don't have an account anymore at the Demidec one, either, so I registered and can't post or PM. CB...(ö) 10:07, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
  • Go ahead and sign up, I'm let you in :)
    • "FloMoJonathan" (I'm bad at nicknames)

ADT crashed during the middle of nationals last year; Invisionboard died, and didn't have a backup. So, we started anew. I actually picked the name!Stanley Tree 18:31, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Did your source for the Texas individual scores have anything for 1997 or 1999? These two years are huge in TAD history... :( Madcap 01:56, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Madcap

I have none from them, but I can see if I can find someone else who might.Stanley Tree 12:16, 25 September 2010 (PDT)

Texas Regionals[edit]

To avoid edit conflicts, you can focus on Regionals/Texas/2011 and I can work on Regionals/2011. EDC mentioned somewhere in the forums that Rockwall got a 39 on SQ relay, so be sure to add that. Madcap 09:06, 30 January 2011 (PST)Madcap
