Lubbock High School is a public magnet and Title I high school in the Lubbock Independent School District located in Lubbock, Texas. Famously known as the alma mater of rock and roll legend Buddy Holly, Lubbock High boasts a longstanding tradition of academic excellence and offers students a variety of challenging courses as part of its International Baccalaureate and AP Capstone curricula.

Lubbock High has won two state championships and represented Texas at Nationals competition in 2002 and 2018. While many Decathlon schools in Texas focus largely on preparing for the seven objective tests, Lubbock High is distinguished by the importance it also places on the three subjective events, viewing these as crucial components of the USAD mission to foster the holistic growth of student competitors.

The school’s motto is “Sportsmanship, Then Victory.”
