Team Scores[edit]

This website operates on volunteering and the honor system: if you look at others' scores, we ask you to be fair to them and share (click here) whatever new data you can.

To the best of our ability, all team scores are scaled to out of 60,000 points and all individual scores are scaled to out of 10,000 points to allow easier comparisons. [5]

1. May or may not include Super Quiz. Nobody has reported on the scoring systems for these states (Indiana, Alaska, Utah).

2. Wisconsin scores extrapolated from (assumed) 9 events (Social Science and Science were combined into one event worth 1,000 points?).

3. The Jackson Sun reports that Madison Academic scored "28,105.8" overall after 7 tests and 22 points in a 45-question Super Quiz, but did not explain scoring. In 2012 and earlier years, Tennessee regionals scores were out of 7 events. Our best guess: 28,105.8 minus 2,200 (22 * 100 points per question for Super Quiz) gives us 25,905.8 for Madison Academic's score out of 7 events. Then we added 15,000 (833.3 average per event per decathlete) to compensate for lack of subjectives. Total = 40,905.8. If you have more information, please edit this page or the talk page.

4. Edgewood's score out of 60,000 placed them 45th overall in California (44th with Super Quiz scores included). 33 region champions + 28 invited teams = 61 teams at California state.

5. Regarding different scoring systems in each state, you might be interested in reading or editing Competition FAQ.
